Wondering about booking your florist for your Michigan wedding or event? We’ve got you covered! I’m sure you’ve ordered flowers online or selected a beautiful bouquet from the local flower shop, but hiring a florist for your wedding can feel like a whole different ballpark.
Here at Sweet Beets Floral, we don’t want it to be complicated! This is what is it like to work with us, from initial contact to post-event!
First Step In Booking Your Florist – Initial Consultation
We are thrilled when you reach out for a consultation from us! Something we hear from almost everyone is “I don’t know what to expect, I’ve never hired a florist!”
There are always nerves on our first call! If you’re anxious because the only flower you know is a carnation… no problem! We don’t expect any potential client to know every flower variety, or where their flowers are sourced from. We are here to walk you through the process from start to finish.
When you contact us for an initial consultation here are the things you should have in mind
- General color palette
- Your budget range
- Estimated quantities of items on your wish list (centerpieces, decor, bouquets, etc.)
Next Step – We Dream!
From our initial consultation to your wedding day – we dream! We will ask you to share Pinterest boards and photos with us. Many couples don’t think they have a “vision” for their wedding, but we find after scrolling your Pinterest board – you really do have consistent ideas!
We gush and swoon over ceremony arches and bouquets. You show me your wedding dress and I imagine the perfect blooms to pair with it! We ask that you use a few words to describe your style and how you want your wedding to feel. I love when we get to hear your love story too!

It is important to us to take flowers that are important to you into consideration. For example, if dahlias were always grown in your late grandfather’s garden, we would be sure to include them. If peonies are your mother’s favorite, we would use them in the design to honor her. We take note of those meaningful blooms and ensure we get them for your wedding!
Our goal is always excellent customer service and communication with our couples. When you share details like your family traditions and memories, it elevates your wedding flowers.
Third Step in the Booking Your Florist – Plan!
Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but your flowers shouldn’t be! Together we will cover all the nitty-gritty details, from your bouquet, your wedding party flowers, ceremony logistics, event timeline and so much more. We chat about centerpieces, your vision for your reception, and your ceremony ideas. We encourage color palettes inspired by nature and the seasonal availability of flowers.
Sometimes we push the envelope and brainstorm wild colors to pair with your palette! We will plan for garden-inspired floral centerpieces in bespoke vessels with the perfect silk ribbons for your bouquets! Here at Sweet Beets, we will always share our floral expertise, while also making your vision come to life!
Last Step in Booking Your Florist – We deliver!
The last step in booking your florist is to connect within 30 days of your wedding or event. Together we review details for your day. At that time we will confirm all the details including reviewing timelines and indicating delivery locations, setup, and teardowns. If you are a full-service design client you don’t have to lift a finger. We take care of everything for you!
When your wedding day arrives, your last concern should be when and where your vendors are at with their service to you. When you’ve got your dream vendors taking care of the details, your wedding day will be relaxing and enjoyable!
We arrive with all your beautiful flowers we’ve talked about for months and now it’s time to enjoy them! Your day will be perfect with a floral design crafted by our team at Sweet Beets Floral.
